Cost effective galvanizing in New England?

I have 275' of ACCO G4 5/16" chain and a Spade 120 anchor I would like to have re-galvanized. A few years ago I asked our local boat yard about re-galvanizing chain and they said it isn't really cost effective and I should just buy new chain. When I bought the chain in 2016 it was $750, today the same is $925 at Defender. Maybe today galvanizing would make sense but I haven't found a shop to do it. Does anyone have pointers to a shop in New England (closer to Boston is better) where they have had success with re-galvanizing chain?

V S Taunton Galvanizing in Taunton, MA, did my tackle reasonably a few years ago.
Be aware that the heat will melt the lead out of your Spade, and you'll have to replace it. I'd consult with the place in case they don't want lead going everywhere: you may be able to melt it out yourself, save it while the anchor gets galved, then melt and pout it back in.

We did a re-galvanizing a few years back. Not worth it. The chain was very difficult to get it to go into the gypsy correctly. I'd never do it again.

I believe Taunton Galvanizing is where we took our40yr Bruce anchor. Very nice and did a good job.
PS It was very cost effective (free). I met them at Build Boston, they were displaying their galvanized solar supports, and they offerred to do it free because it was small.

If this is true, the galvanizing was done badly. Something like chain needs to come out of the zinc dip on a vibrating screen table to shake off the excess zinc and keep the links from sticking together.

When you have galvanizing done, before you accept and pay for it, do a quick inspection. A FEW stuck links are normal, if a significant fraction of the chain is in a solid lump, make them redo it, that is NOT "The way it comes."

We had our chain re-galvanized along with the anchor for the shop's minimum charge. All up <$500 including the truck rental. Two years later, the chain is still better than it was new.
