Activator for two-dinghy adhesive

I’m in the process of a repair job on my Hypalon inflatable dinghy. I bought a two-part adhesive from a regional dinghy sales and repair shop. It is unbranded, though the label says French-made. It appears similar to Polymarine and other two part adhesives, but the instructions are a little different, meaning the open air cure time is substantially shorter. The vendor cautioned me that if an area gets too dry in the application process, the un-attached area should be re-activated with toluene. Toluene is only locally available in one gallon containers, much more than I can imagine using. Besides I’m not too crazy about using toluene because of the health exposure and flammability issues. I can get 1 qt. toluene/toluol online, but the freight is prohibitive.
So- does anyone have any idea if something like xylene or acetone will work to re-activate this glue on the slightly dry areas before attachment?

No on acetone.

Xylene is similar to tolulene, but with two methyl groups rather than one. Remember that it has many of the same toxicity issues as tolulene. Give it a try.

I have determined that my adhesive is Nautic.
