Who makes these?

I saw these on an Alumet at the boat show and asked pretty much every hardware vendor at the show if they knew who makes them. They all said “No...but it’s a cool idea.” Even cooler would be if the has captive low friction rings.

Anyone know who the manufacturer is?

Re: Who makes these?

Nothing a low friction ring and some seizing line can’t do.

I was thinking the exact same thing.. I actually thought "whats the point"?

Would these do the exact same job?

The one in your photo looks like a Wichard product.

Re: Who makes these?

Mine slide down over 1-1/4 inch stanchions and have wheels with ball bearings.

Here are mine and two more options on my friend’s boat.

Re: Who makes these?

Unless your boat is small, go the block/roll - style ones. Or 'frictionless rings' of a good brand (karver, wichard, etc.) - if the running part is SPECTRA.

Agree. Spinlock also make nice looking black ones.

A Google search on "clamp on stanchion fairlead" will give lots of alternatives.

Re: Who makes these?

Yes, just lash on a LFR. I did several that way a year ago, because I had the LFRs and wanted to test new routing. Now I have no reason to change it. Light and smooth.

Ok looks like the are Wichard. Shocking that a bunch of Wichard resellers/retailers did not know that.

I appreciate the recommendations about using LFRs but I’m contemplating them as fairleads for preventer return lines. It’s more about keeping the lines off the sidedecks than needing the lowest friction possible. I like that I can install them and not have one more fiber rigging component to keep an eye on.
