Best place to buy running rigging

Literally. Where is the best place to buy it. I’m in MX, but will be flying to the states for a month and within 6-8 months will be heading West. My rigging is all very serviceable, but am thinking ahead. Buy while in the states or wait til someplace along the way like New Zealand, Australia, or Asia,… price and quality…

You are aware of this thing called comparative shopping?

And no one knows what you need or want: material, sizes, color, B&W.

Odd question.

I wasn’t asking from whom to buy from, but was curious about location, quality and availability on a worldwide basis. Example. Buying anything imported into Mexico is not always possible, and you pay heavy duties if it’s imported. Locally made plastic products may not be of serviceable quality for world cruisers. I was looking for local knowledgeable responses so I could plan ahead
Thanks for your input though :-)

Check out sailing services. They are one of the largest line distributors on the east coast.

If you are on a budget then Miami cordage is good, but I’ll warn you that the line is loose.

Cordage of most types is available from many sources in Australia. Costs are not too different than those in the USA, but some specialty items may need to be sourced offshore. We have had no problems in getting our cordage needs satisfied here over the past 25 years, but being a cruising yacht have not needed the latest hi-tech line.

Thanks. I’m not looking for high tech. Either. Just good quality, and value

I have found Defender to have good selection, deep stock, and good service. They will make splices and whip ends at reasonable rates as long as you don't want anything too exotic.

My 'go to' is Donaghys https://www.donaghys.com.au/marine in Australia and NZ.

Quality kit locally made.

Don't think you will find much between Mexico and NZ.

I bought about 60 metres just the other day to take back to my boat.

A lot on the market in Australia is Asian junk.
I bought a supposedly 'quality' bit of double braid for my furling line a few months ago.
Stretch? I think you could use it for bungee jumping.

Apart from Donaghys there is also https://whittamropes.com.au/products/marine-ropes/
who manufacture just outside Melbourne. I think Whitworths stock Whittams but I have only bought direct while in Melbourne. Price is good at the factory door if buying by the reel.
