Whale Gulper 320 - spare parts required, Where ?

I recently (6months) installed a couple new Whale Gulper 320 bilge pumps, one of them failed. The nylon gear that actuates the diaphragm stripped a gear and the pump self destructed. ( not sure why because both the intake and discharge lines are clear )

I contacted the US distributor (Atwood) for spare parts and they have indicated that nothing is available in the way of rebuild parts other than the diaphragm kit.

I am having a bit of trouble tossing a 300$ pump because of a 10 piece of plastic so I thought I would ask here.... is it possible that its just the US distributer that doesn't handle spare parts for the pumps? Are they available elsewhere? Where? If anyone has any thoughts it would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Navi

I don't think those gears are replaceable due to the way they are press fit. The pumps come with a 2 year warranty, I believe. Whaler replaced mine under warranty with no hassles.
