I am having a real bear of a time with a
Newport MkII, hoping Tellie or someone else can help. Client came to me with suspect divert valve not sending product to tank. Removed and bench tested divert valve and proved OK. Ran unit and had
water leaks between the valve block and the end blocks, pressure gauge unreadable. Z Brane unit was also not working due to broken return wire from
corrosion caused by the
water leak, membrane was also 10 years old. Ordered O ring kit and membrane and replaced as per instructions as well as
cleaning gauge face. Unit runs but pressure only climbs to 50 psi and still minor
leaks. No production but upon disconnecting hose from membranes to manifold
salt water under pressure coming from manifold side (not membrane). As the reject water on this model passes back into the
pump intake rather than direct to brine discharge I figured it must be by-passing in the manifold somewhere and causing feed pressure to drop as well as the
salt water in the product line. Removed the manifold and bench tested with freshwater hose connected to membrane inlet to manifold and water passes to
pump inlet with no weepage from port to tank. Energizing the solenoid diverts to tank with no weepage from pump inlet appears adequate and no fault showing on the MPC panel.
