Fridge not cooling?

Hi all,

Firstly apologies for starting another fridge thread. If it softens the blow I promise I have done a search and have learnt a great deal from previous threads especially Richards detailed and informative posts.

Our boat has the original fridge setup, , that’s is a BD35F and 101N0220 Controller in conjunction with a ‘freezer’ style cooling plate.

The compressor appears to be running as does the fan, but alas the fridge does not appear to be cooling at al after 8-10 hours.

I was wondering if anyone has recommendations on next steps I can take ?

I had thought to bypass the thermostat but as The compressor is running I’m as this point inclined to rule the thermostat out.

Is the cooling plate in the fridge feeling cold, partially cold or not cold at all?

I would say not particularly cold at all.

We used to have a few actual manufacturers of marine refrigeration systems here that were happy to be of whatever assistance they could be, however they appear to have been chased away by a former " guru" that constantly disagreed and ridiculed them. In my book the site is poorer for the loss.

Sorry to hear that.

For the sake of anyone reading this thread in the future, I managed to rule out electrical problems by following some of common fault finding processes.

Was able to borrow some gauges and confirmed that there was basically no gas in the system.

Have gotten the system regassed, checked for leaks and am now enjoying icy cold beverages.
