Perkins/BUKH info

Hello all

Does anybody have any info on the BUKH transmission that is used with the Perkins 4.108 engines.

I'm working on a 1985 Grand Soleil 39 and it looks like the forward clutches are slipping under load. It shifts perfectly and motor runs great had diver look at prop (Max-Prop) was told it was fine.

Have taken a peek inside and all looks good except the fwd clutch pack seems slightly darker. Only makes 3 or 4 knots forward then engine pulls through unloading reverse works great.

Have looked about the web for a diagram for the trans and all I find are the outside line drawings.

Looking to find out if the clutch packs are serviceable without hauling her out?

Are you sure it is a BUKH transmission?
Would have thought more likely to be a PRM or maybe a Hurth.

This is an old Bukh saildrive that Bukh build themselves. You can contact Bukh direct for any parts and manuals.

Alternatively there is one gentleman that I know who rebuilds them in Italy. Contact ScanDiesel and speak to Attilio Origo. His English is excellent and his email address is info@scandiesel.it
