Unless you have a cat that you can beach or have access to careening poles.

Re: Lanolin as propeller antifoul

I use egg white. Works OK in low to average fouling areas IME.

Just paint on as many coats as you can depending on drying conditions. I like to get on 6 or more coats, sometimes manage 10+.

Oh and use the yolks for custard

I use the whole egg. Eat two eggs fried for breakfast, then dive on the prop and scrape it.

Yep, seriously!
Not original, someone told me about it some years back in Perth. I'd heard about it but never believed it so I tried it out by putting it on one blade only. Left one blade uncoated and put something else on the third blade - can't remember what anymore. The egg white blade faired better than the others so I kept doing it. Last time it was coated was two years back in Perth; since then it has had about 200 hundred hours on the prop and I hope to haul in the next few weeks and expect it to be somewhat fouled but still usable. I am of course, in a low fouling area.

Most people seem to think it is - at the best - eccentric (but harmless) but I'm happy to keep doing it.

I'm also sure there might be better solutions

Re: Lanolin as propeller antifoul

A plastic bag over the propeller prevents growth - a bit of a problem to put the bags on, and a bigger problem if you forget to remove them...
