I think we need zero tolerance for ice cream. Other than tasting good, it has no redeeming value. None whatsoever. Saturated fat. Extremely high in sugar and other sweeteners. Very little actual nutrition. A complete waste of calories.

Ice cream should be declared illegal: sale, possession and especially consumption. Why is the goverment failing us on this? We need a group to push this through the legislative process. We have to stop ice from ruining our once great country. Who is with me on this crusade to save our society and rid us of Satan's tool called ice cream?

Moderation is the great lie, you know. You should be eating broccoli instead. I know what's best for you. Trust me.

As for boating and drinking....Can't outlaw stupidity..An IQ test should be required instead.
Well, that's what a friend who is an airline pilot for American told me.

Ban DHMO !!!

As perviously discuused at ➥
http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...r-28228-2.html

Ban Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) !!!

Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) is a colourless and odourless chemical compound, also referred to by some as Dihydrogen Oxide, Hydrogen Hydroxide, Hydronium Hydroxide, or simply Hydric acid. Its basis is the highly reactive hydroxyl radical, a species shown to mutate DNA, denature proteins, disrupt cell membranes, and chemically alter critical neurotransmitters. The atomic components of DHMO are found in a number of caustic, explosive and poisonous compounds such as Sulfuric Acid, Nitroglycerine and Ethyl Alcohol.

Although the U.S. Government and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) do not classify Dihydrogen Monoxide as a toxic or carcinogenic substance (as it does with better known chemicals such as hydrochloric acid and benzene), DHMO is a constituent of many known toxic substances, diseases and disease-causing agents, environmental hazards and can even be lethal to humans in quantities as small as a thimbleful.

ach year, Dihydrogen Monoxide is a known causative component in many thousands of deaths and is a major contributor to millions upon millions of dollars in damage to property and the environment. Some of the known perils of Dihydrogen Monoxide include:
(* Very dangerouse to boaters)

* Death due to accidental inhalation of DHMO, even in small quantities.
* Prolonged exposure to solid DHMO causes severe tissue damage.
* Excessive ingestion produces a number of unpleasant though not typically life-threatening side-effects.
* DHMO is a major component of acid rain.
* Gaseous DHMO can cause severe burns.
* Contributes to soil erosion.
* Leads to corrosion and oxidation of many metals*.
* Contamination of electrical systems often causes short-circuits*.
* Exposure decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes.
* Found in biopsies of pre-cancerous tumors and lesions.
* Given to vicious dogs involved in recent deadly attacks.
* Often associated with killer cyclones in the U.S. Midwest and elsewhere, and in hurricanes including deadly storms in Florida, New Orleans and other areas of the southeastern U.S.*
* Thermal variations in DHMO are a suspected contributor to the El Nino weather effect*.

A recent stunning revelation is that in every single instance of violence in our country's schools, including infamous shootings in high schools in Denver and Arkansas, Dihydrogen Monoxide was involved. In fact, DHMO is often very available to students of all ages within the assumed safe confines of school buildings.

Act NOW to prevent further contamination. Find out more about this dangerous chemical. What you don't know can hurt you and others throughout the world.

We must Ban Dihydrogen Monoxide!

Gord, I keeping this on a cruising subject I think you failed to point out that consumption of this substance is highly addictive. While most cruisers take extreme measures to keep as much DHMO out of their vessels as possible, a few highly addicted individuals spend thousands of dollars and untold amounts of fossil fuel attempting to create a highly purified version in order to enhance their pleasure while consuming it. Terrible stuff. I plan on doing everything I can to keep it out of my boat.

Gord,

The irony is , that if you purify it with Scotch, in the form of ice cubes,
you get back to the essence of this thread.

On NPR the other morning the reporter during an interview with a grocery CEO suggested that maybe high sugar cereals should be banned or placed out of sight because of the child obesity problem.

I have pointed out that once we get national health care the bad diet issue will no longer be a joke. I believe "Big Brother" is absolutely dead serious about social engineering.

We are letting insurance tie us together in an horrifing knot to serve the name of reducing policy cost to everyone.

It would be OK if the insurance was not manditory by law however car insurance is manditory and now so are seat belt and motorcycle helmet laws.

They should ban grape holders on the tourists from north of the border who holiday in Hollywood Florida.

Hollywood Floriday was the first place I ever had a 20 dollar bill checked with one of thos marker pens. (1993). I asked about that to the clerk and she said that a lot of counterfeits come from Maple Leaf Land

It's all fun and games until they target you.

Boating is pretty much a useless pastime. Our boats consume petrochemicals, old wood forests or require smokey steel factories in their manufacture - disposal is a nightmare. We pollute the environment and destroy the beauty of the coastline with our marinas, usually displacing some nice water creature that was there first. We invade foreign lands imposing our culture on them and instilling disatisfaction in the local populations by flaunting our wealth and consumptive habits.

Elilminate boats and you also eliminate the drunks that drive them or heaven forbid smoke on them...
