So who "improved" the reply editing tool?

It used to be that when I was writing a reply, I hit "ENTER" and I got one CR and one LF in the message, so the post simply moved to the next line. And if I wanted to leave a blank line between paragraphs--which isn't always appropriate--I just hit ENTER twice and it was done.
Now things are NEW AND IMPROVED and very often the editor doesn't show an advance to the next line, it looks like it hasn't advanced one line at all, as if it is going to type over the last line.
Just as bad, if you hit return twice...now there's two empty lines when the message posts, but still no sign of one when composing the message.
My browser is MSIE 11, fully patched, and the problem is confined to SAILNET, so please? Let's just fix whatever screwed up setting is in the reply editor, here in this forum? Offhand I'd say for about two months now.

Can't say that I have this problem, every time I hit ENTER (like now)
I get a CR & LF, if I hit it twice I get

and so on.

Always been that way , using Safari and Mac OS.

Yep, I use the same browser, and often get same symptoms here, too. Not always, though.

Re: So who "improved" the reply editing tool?

wotname-
If I had to make an educated guess, I'd say the reply editing "window" on this forum is using an active technology. Java, JavaScript, ActiveX, whatever, and those all will be run differently depending on what OS and browser are detected and present, and of course the security settings, on each client computer. Or it could be one of those issues with HTML5 being unsupported, not uncommon these days.

Glad you don't see any problem. That points a tentative finger to "How does this web site send what different code to Macs and PCs in the reply composition windows?"

Perhaps the forum software was upgraded in the past 2-3 months, and the upgrade has a bug. Or someone switched a feature they thought was a good idea.
