CF's photo management stinks!

Anyone else agree with me? It is a total pain to try and upload photos into a thread, you have to first upload them somewhere else then provide a URL. It can be a five step process just to get a pic into a thread.

And the member gallery is super clunky. You can't easily navigate between single photos and someone's gallery. I'm not quite sure of the relationship between a member's gallery and photos tab in the header.

The whole thing just seems really clunky.

The photos cannot be rearranged to suit a sequence of events, If I add more photos, they again cannot be placed, other than at the end.

Am I doing something wrong?

I haven't bothered in a while. Imgur is my go-to image hosting provider; I picked up the $20/year plan and have had good luck with it.

Agree, find an image hosting provider. I am using Smugmug.com for unlimited size and number of images and ad-free. It is very easy to link the pictures into posts, like this:

Re: CF's photo management stinks!

I will pass you concerns on. The guys in the back room do work hard, but no its not perfect and comments from users on possible improvements are appreciated.

However, you can download a photograph direcly fom your computer. It does not have to be hosted at an external site.

Go to manage attachments
Choose file
Choose existing (select the photo you want)
Upload

This inserts a photo onto your post directly, no hosting needed.

No nothing wrong, the photos appear at the end of the post.

I agree it would be nice to arrange the text of the post around the photos, but this is currently not possible.

I will pass on your desire for some greater versitility in this area. I think its a good idea.

Yep.

Maybe the more difficult it is the less server space they need?

I upload to my website and link from there...

Re: CF's photo management stinks!

I don't see any "manage attachment " option , where is it. I think you have to contribute money to CF to access that. I have to put the pictures in my "album" and then link them.

Funnily on the iPad version I can upload attachments directly
