OpenCPN not connecting with GPS

I have been using OpenCPN with my BU-353S4 Gps receiver for several years.
Starting up for the first time this season and using the same computer I am unable to receive the location of the boat. I have checked set up and under filters see in "none" and out "none" for all data ports with parameters set at 4800. I have tried plugging GPS into all 4 of my USB ports.
GPS pilot light is flashing red on and off.

Any suggestions on what to try?

The OCPN manual reflects the latest program version 4.6.1
If it's of no help please revert here and ad more info about what operating system you're using and if the GPS works on other system.
