N2K wind instrument Gwind or Ws310

hoping for some help on experience with interfacing new wind sensor to N2k bus.

Currently No wind sensor or wind display on boat,
I Dont want to install a dedicated wind display (power cruiser, no space on dash
and perfectly good Axiom glass MFDs that can display all i need)

I need a wind (wired) sensor that has an “inbuilt” N2K interface,
and have narrowed search to
B&G WS310 (wired, inc N2k interface)
OR
Garmin Gwind (plus GND10 interface)

However despite a lot of searching and reading, having difficulty identifying
“if” either of these can be setup/calibrated (as required) WITHOUT the associated
mfr’s wind instrument attached or on the bus.
(the very reason I have excluded raymarine from my consideration - as they state
I MUST have a dedicated wind display for connection of transducer to N2k etc)

GND10 appears to have USB port used for setup and config, but cant find details on how (&where) calibration data is stored (eg wind direction offset)

WS310 - manuals and internet based information badly lacking, with no details
on how (or where) to effect calibration

hoping for some assistance/input from an owner of either of above.

Most wind sensors for boating have as such no means for end user calibration. The calibration is typically done in the wind display. And you are right in that most MFDs have quite limited wind calibration capabilities, maybe with the exception for sensors of their own brand.

LCJ Capteurs' ultrasonic wind sensors can however be individually calibrated for wind angle offset, but this requires a NMEA to USB adapter, a 12 VDC supply and a PC with LCJ Capteurs free-of-charge software. And not even this is especially user friendly. Please note that LCJ Capteurs' wind sensors are NMEA0183, but with their WindyPlug you can obtain N2k.

Another option is to use any N2k wind sensor and make the offset adjustment by turning the sensor manually. Not convenient if the sensor is on the top of a sailboat mast, but perhaps possible on a power boat.

Re: N2K wind instrument Gwind or Ws310

I have the LCJ Captuers CV7 and it come with a mounting wand. Just line up the wand with the bow and enjoy. My tack angles appear identical on the Raymarine MFD so no calibration needed for my use.

ChrisseH is correct that you can calibrate CV7 with the company's software, but it's more likely to 'just work' if you get wand pointed correclty. It's about 18" long so it give you a pretty good length to sight down to the bow.
