Re: Helmsman Trawler v. Nordhavn... not even close, right?

That's fair enough. But if you're saying one is built for ocean crossing and one isn't... are you saying one is built better than the other?

Helmsman Trawler v. Nordhavn... not even close, right?

The Helmsman has speed on it's side (when needed). The Nord is a Nord.

But I have to say, I totally dislike the N41 and LOVE the N40.

How much "worse" is a Helmsman compared to a Nord?

Re: Folding and bagging up West Tender RU-3

Ha! As silly as it sounds, that really makes me feel better! We don't use it very often, but when we do, we really want it to stay in good shape.

Funny you say about not removing the slats! When...

Folding and bagging up West Tender RU-3

We just deflated and bagged our West Tender RU-3 since we won't be using it for a while.

We got it in the bag! Along with the oars, pump, seats, slats, etc.

Got me thinking.

Is there a...

Re: Small Yanmar with a leak… how to fix, if even temporary?

The mighty vac has a gauge where you can see if there's a drop.

Re: Small Yanmar with a leak… how to fix, if even temporary?

Thanks.
I'm well aware of the danger of the fuel on the mixer elbow.

The focus here is to determine where the leak(s) is located from.

I understand that the vac is very limited, however, a...

Re: Small Yanmar with a leak… how to fix, if even temporary?

Also... if it was a supply line, wouldn't performance have been impacted?

Re: Small Yanmar with a leak… how to fix, if even temporary?

Interesting. You don't think if I sealed the ends and pulled a vac on it and then measured for loss, that would tell me something? I'm thinking along the line of a Mighty Vac or sim.

Re: Small Yanmar with a leak… how to fix, if even temporary?

That is what I thought from the beginning.

I'm thinking... remove the high pressure line and test of leaks?

Bringing this back.

So... it appears that it is likely the return hose. I haven't been to the boat to take a look, plan to shortly. The person that said they were surprised if it was an injector...

Small Yanmar with a leak… how to fix, if even temporary?

70V 1cyl Yanmar
What causes the leakage seen in photo and video.
It’s not a big leak but the heat in the engine area makes for a stink in the cabin and it does accumulate over time.

I’d be very...

Re: I apologize. First time inflatable dinghy owner RU3 Hypalon - many questions...

The rigid dink was a great solution when my two kids were smaller/lighter. Now that they are bigger... and only using a 2.5 Suzuki, It become a problem. One good scoop over the bow was all I needed...

Re: I apologize. First time inflatable dinghy owner RU3 Hypalon - many questions...

Can I ask, why do you suggest storing it upside down? Water filling that might not drain quickly enough? Or another reason?

The reason I ask is that I'm concerned with air getting under it when...

2.9 PSI - Is there a good gauge for West Marine RU-3?

All the reviews for the gauges are pretty poor. The one for my SUP is a bit small and won't "lock in".

How do y'all get it right at 2.9? I don't want to over/under.

No option for swim platform. If you could take a look at this pic:

Where the rigid dink is... that's where the inflatable would live.

I'm not certain I...

Re: I apologize. First time inflatable dinghy owner RU3 Hypalon - many questions...

Is it better to store upside down or right side up? (Important: We're talking about storing it on the hardtop like in the picture I posted above.)

I apologize. First time inflatable dinghy owner RU3 Hypalon - many questions...

1) I, together with my wife and kids, lift it up on top of my hardtop like I did with my old rigid dink. What's a safe way to pull/lift this one? I don't know if using the eyes where a bridle goes...

Question Seat on the PRU-3 West Marine Dinghy.

Wow. Dumb question.

The seat has a bracket, one on each end. The bracket is more open on end and tighter on the other.* Does the more open end go toward the bow or toward the stern?

Thanks,...
