Helmsman Trawler v. Nordhavn... not even close, right?

The Helmsman has speed on it's side (when needed). The Nord is a Nord.

But I have to say, I totally dislike the N41 and LOVE the N40.

How much "worse" is a Helmsman compared to a Nord?

Don't beat me up too bad. But I really like the Helmsman.

I wouldn't say it's worse, but they're built for a different purpose. Nordhavns are built to be very heavy duty and capable of crossing oceans. The Helmsan is a well built boat as well, but it's intended for coastal cruising, not ocean crossing.

That's fair enough. But if you're saying one is built for ocean crossing and one isn't... are you saying one is built better than the other?

The difference isn't necessarily a build quality difference, but a design difference. Size of tanks, window placement and design, layout, hull shape, etc. are all factors in whether a boat is designed to cross an ocean or not. If you don't need to cross oceans, a powerboat capable of it often comes with a lot of compromises to gain that ability.
