Hard to loose stuff as heavy as we use LOL 100 lb mono,100 lb ss leader, bungee cord for a strike hooker! and then just let it drag and hand to hand haul it in ! Nothing to it ! Works for large or small! sometimes we run a diver to get the lure down if needed, just a bunch of different plugs and spoons and featherd jigs! the whole rig cost about 20 bucks and lasts almost for ever LOL Im a Cheap cruiser

Yes, a meat eater finds it easier and possibly cheaper to find their fave food nearly everywhere in the popular cruising areas. This is a carnivorous world.

But a veggie does not need a fridge onboard so it sorts balances out.

Outside of Europe, we only found decent beer in French supermarches in West Indies, in French Polynesia (Hinano!) and on Rodrigues. We bought it when we could afford it and drank it au naturel under a palm.

You can always place a six-pack in a bag, then lower it 15-20 ft into the water. A few hours later, pull up cold beer and down the hatch! By the way, when I was in Negril - Jamaica, the Brits drank their beer at room temperature; Red Stripe beer.

That is just about the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard! If anything a "veggie" needs a refer even more than a carnivore. As to beer, even veggie's like cold beer and watery beer from the tropics needs a refer, bad.

The water temp 15-20' below us is 83F. Not exactly gonna get cold beer that way in these waters...

From a lecture on food borne illnesses I learned that, in the US, fish can be labelled "fresh" as long as it has been refrigerated for 2 weeks or less. I find that incredible.

A famous man once said "Guests, like fish, begin to smell after three days". I've seen this quote attributed to Ben Franklin and Samuel Johnson, btw :/

One of the joys of eating Mahi is that you dont have to worry about ciguartaria. That is true of most palagic fish(tuna, whahoo, barracuda if you are away from islands). Barracuda near reefs can be quite poisonous. On my last delivery from Hawaii, my crew caught a tuna, and we devoured it (with wasabi) before it changed temperature. God I wish I was on the ocean again. ______Grant.
