Trawler Schools

I am thinking of switching from sailboats to trawlers, and want to find a place to learn about trawlers and sailing them in the Chesapeake Bay area. Any ideas?

Re: Trawler Schools

How deep is your sailing experience? Might be you'd only need a few pointers about some of the differences (you can go direct from point A to point B, you can make way when there's no wind, if you gain an engine docking might be easier, etc.).

If it's just stuff like that, most active training captains could probably fix you right up.

Or if you gain equipment -- ACs if you've had none before, more engines, whatever -- that's maybe more about maintenance tips. Still, not difficult to solve...

There is a trawlerform.com, there's the annual Trawler Fests, many of the trawler brands have owners groups...
