Re: SF area new member hi!

Welcome! Perhaps you are planning to completely transition out of flying, but there are certainly quite a few people in the bay area who sail AND fly

Much slower but somehow the same. It still takes forever to get to something in the distance. But now, it's different. Think how prepared you are for high prices. Enjoy.

Re: SF area new member hi!

Greetings Dave, & Welcome Aboard.
If it's advice or crew you need, we'll find it. If's it's rum to sip, or wrenches to turn, then I'm in. And if it's someone to pay the bar tab, we'll make sure to leave no traces when we attach it to someone else's account :-)

Merry Christmas!

Howdy Dave and Welcome Aboard!

I don't know about your time on the water in SF Bay, but if if sailing it is new to you, I recommend viewing the following document. I suggest it to all who want to go sailing in SF. It is a free download PDF that gives tips on how to enjoy a day of sailing there.

I used to live and sail in SF for years, and I did not come across this until recently, but I wish I had read it years ago, when I first got to SF. It would have helped me understand what sailors meant when they talked about the Raccoon Straits, The Boat Eating South Tower, Potato Patch, and such.

It was published by "Latitude 38" the local sailing rag (magazine) that has long been a source for good stuff related to sailing in the SF Bay.

Have fun and perhaps I will see you on the bay someday!
