Currently in Colorado but looking at boats.
Leaning toward steel, which I have worked with for nearly 40 years.
As to the rest; gearhead, learning computer geek.

Lots of steel boats out there but very many more fiberglass to choose from.
If you don't mind maintaining steel in salt water then their plus is that they are very tough hulls.

I like steel as long as it new or meticulously maintained. I have seen lots of older steel boats that had major problems that drove the second and third owners crazy.

If you start out with new steel, you can do it right and design it in such a manner that you have access to the internals of yacht to do the required maintenance.
