Welcome to the forum. Garmin (to me) is the most user friendly.

Ill second the Garmin brand. I've used others and not happy untill I've got'n back to a Garmin. Must be something in my brain that seems intuitive with the s/w in the Garmin.

Cheers

I totally agree with Garmin. Much more user friendly. Pay the extra for the color displays.

I've got a Garmin been reliable. I've also got a navman chartplotter that I use on a daily basis which I'd be sad to part with.

With all the advice, what you really need to understand is what the GPS is going to be used with. If you will add a navigation system, auto pilot, use the pilot brand for the GPS.
