Welcome Alex, I'm new to this also, but it's a fantastic learning experience on this site with VERY knowledgeable, friendly sailors.
Good Luck!
(By the way, I loved your movie, BRAVEHEART!!! hehehe)

Hi Alex - Welcome aboard!

There are plenty of European and many med sailors around this place. Running a B&B sounds so romantic but I bet it's just like working for a living - LOL.

Hello Alex & Lynne,

Welcome to the forum. I spent some time in France, been over there a few times. Where/what area are you in? I was in LeHavre, Nice, Paris.

Hi hawkcharter
we live in region 23 - Creuse yes i know funny that we are going to start sailing and live in creuse ??
lynne thinks we should do a book called creuse to cruise when the time comes and if you look at the map we are right in the middle of france
the nearest water we have is a man made lake called Lake Vassiviere
where we hope to start sailing soon
thanks
alex & lynne

Welcome Alex and Lynne from a fellow Celt! Looking forward to participating in your quest for knowledge (with what little I have) and counting down your timeline to freedom! Great learning and adventures await - I'm sure your dream is the best one available on this ever crowding and over-regulated planet. Good luck!!

Welcome...that's excellent. The Med is where I hope to end up after cruising the Pacific and the Caribbean.

I will wave to you as we pass.

Grandma had a B&B wow what alot of work. And all that being nice to people That would be real hard. From a fellow Scot I trust you won't take offence to one of my favorite quotes in the movie "So I Married an Axe Murder."

'Scotland's got its own martial arts its called, F@#$ You. Well its mainly head butting people and kicking them when thy're down. But its quite Effective.

Welcome aboard and good luck with your sailing plans
