Hello from Vero Beach, Florida

Hi Forum members. I have been enjoying your posts and learning a lot about a lot of things. That's the purpose I suppose. I'm another wanna be sailor; who if I live a little longer will make it back to the sea.Ex Navy, Pratt-Whitney engine assembly, Citroen mechanic in the 60s Boilerman in the Navy. Musician for 12 years or so. Two daughters 1 granddaughter, divorced and ready to leave my instruments(except maybe a guitar and a keyboard.) Those have been my anchor chain. Try as I may I can't see a boat big enough to bring my Hammond B-3 aboard.(That I can afford)

Thank you frequent contributors for your wit and insight into sailing problems.
Oh yes I really am a New sailor.

John

John, Welcome & I'm sure you can find this forum to be a great resource, but, as you are likely aware, you have a great resource for cruising info in your home town. Just stop by at the lounge at the Vero Beach City Marina, especially for the thursday afternoon gatherings, and you'll find a great flock of enthusiastics cruisers ready to share all.

Thanks for the welcome, I was aware of the very busy Vero Beach Marina. I was not aware of the lounge, I will have to check that out next week, today is "that time of the month". That's when you sit down and play shuffle the money to see if it will fill all the cracks in your budget.
enjoy your winter, hope it is warmer than Florida.

John

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Good to have you here and thanks for your service in the Navy. My first watches aboard in the Navy were in the boiler rooms on a Navy Destroyer Tender from San Francisco to Coos Bay Oregon and back. That cured me of wanting to be an engineer.
kind regards,

Thank you Gord May And John L. John L. That is also my name. The boiler room was REALLY hot down around Panama, with no AC. (What Is That?)
I got down to the Marina today and met a cruiser from VI. Again thank all of you for your posts, I have learned a lot, some of the seamanship I should have learned on the ship, but didn't. Oh we;ll it gives me something to do with the rest of my life. I won't have time to be bored.
