Hello from the BVI

Hi all, just joined your board it looks amazing! Full of information. I've lived in the BVI and been around boats and sailing all my life, but have just bought my first one (bigger than a sunfish!).

A 1975 Pearson 26. It's so exciting! She's on the hard just now and am in the process of refitting and baby-proofing a bit before she goes back in in a couple of weeks.

Looking at her I can't believe my grandfather sailed from the UK to the BVI in a 26 foot catamaran - she looks tiny compared to all the big charter boats around!

Anyway, look forward to being around the board and to meeting lots of you.

WELCOME aboard, Tortolian!
Look forward to hearing about your experiences with the new (to you) boat.

Welcome aboard, neighbor!

Better make sure she doesn't go back into the water before next week. 94L, perhaps soon to be known as TS Cristobal, is coming our way!

“94L” is a tropical wave midway between Africa and the Lesser Antilles, which does have “some” potential to develop into a tropical depression by Thursday or Friday.

Tortolian - welcome. Since you made no mention of the soon-to-be-enacted fees can we assume that you are fortunate enough to be a belonger?

I am a BVIslander, and so I *think* I am exempt, but the boat is registered in UK, so I am as confused as everyone else!! I'll snag Capt. Sallah and check next time I bump into him...

Aloha Tortolian,
Welcome aboard! I was fortunate enough to visit your island in the 80s. Very fascinating. I really enjoyed the Baths. Is that how its spelled and near where you are?
Kind regards,
JohnL

Hey John! Everything was so lovely and much quieter here in the 80s - development is slightly out of control since then, but the Baths are still great. Were you sailing here? What's the sailing like in Hawai'i? Is it like here? Is there a big charter fleet?
