hello from Playa del Carmen, Mexico

Not new to sailing but new to this board. Living in Playa del Carmen, south of Cancun, Mexico since 1995.

Just finished my ASA 104 Bareboat Skipper course in Ft. Lauderdale with BWSS.

Looking forward to crew on passages or delivery.

greetings
Matt

Wow - Carmen has changed an awful lots since then! That was when I first went there. We fell in love with it immediately almost packed it in and moved there. I sort of wish we had, but then the change would have been hard to watch. I remember a girl at the topas bar who was packing it in to head to Bluefields or Roatan . . .

Welcome to CF Matt!

If you know Buceo Cyan Ha tell Carlos hi for me. What do you do in Playa? It certainly has changed, I started going there in '81 when Quinta Avenida was a dirt trail...Lots of fond memories!

Saludos

Re: hello from Playa del Carmen, Mexico

Hello Matt, I am planning a trip to Playa Del Carmen in November. I am trying to find information to charter (bareboat) a 40 - 50 boat for 3 or 4 nights.
Can you help point me in the right direction? Most websites I have found are just for snorkeling 3 hours type cruises.
Thank you,
Wendy from Ottawa, Canada

Re: hello from Playa del Carmen, Mexico

Hello Matt, I am a new sailor, too, here in Playa since 2000... I took initial sailing lessons in Puerto Aventuras with Armando and the 101's in Sarasota.. I can't find too much sailing here, if you do, I would be interested to crew up...
