So, you catch a mouse on a sticky tray - then what ?

You caught the little bugger. Do you then take a ball-ping hammer and ting it on the head...? Or do you grab it around its throat and choke the life out of this little wide eyed rodent. Do you put the little cutie that is stuck to the trap in a plastic bag---YES, YOU DO DO THAT-- but then what..? I'm asking you people this, because you're the only ones I trust.

What would you do, for the love of godddddddd?

Big fight with the little lady, and I am not talking about the **&^*I*%*%^*&ing mouse. Oh, you notice this is "Off Topic"? (And just between us.)

Okay, I know you are all on pins and needles as to what I did...

I took the mouse stuck to the sticky-tray wrapped in a plastic bag, wished it well, and stuck it in the garbage.

And then got hell for it.

Re: So, you catch a mouse on a sticky tray-then what?

If the mouse is already stuck then you are morally obligated to dispatch the mouse quickly and humanely (out of sight of "the little lady").

If not already caught go to Home Depot and get a no kill, capture trap, catch the mouse and road trip him or her to the woods. No problem, no fight.

I think you will get over the head of the mouse with a hammer and "she" will get over your head with a hammer . . .

Just take the little bugger out into the woods, sticky paper and all and put it down deep in the woods. Some starving cat or other animal will appreciate your gift. Putting it in a trash can is sort of ecologically wasteful. And you can tell the little lady that you put the mouse in the woods with the other animals.

OK OK....about 8 years ago we had a little mouse problem. I had caught about 5 or 6 on one trap, the wife seen them and told me to let them go......imposible to get them off the sticky trap. I had a hammer and put them out of there misery. She must have got over it because she's still here..........(i think).....

Re: So, you catch a mouse on a sticky tray-then what?

Had a mouse in the off-grid cabin and thought I'd try a sticky trap for the first time. I didn't hear a thing during the night but woke to find it stuck good.

I didn't really like seeing it struggling at the point of exhaustion. Basically cycling it's stuck jaw in a slow motion breathing.

I opened the door and tossed the emotion outside in the yard while I decided what to do.

Less than a minute had passed when a shadow passed the open doorway as I glanced up to see a red tailed hawk take the mouse, trap and all into the sky.

My heart then sank even lower as I realized the bird of prey now had that sticky mess on it as well. That stuff is so sticky it's not hard to speculate it was the end of both mouse and bird.

It really is hard to make a better mouse trap. I think the traditional type is the best, next to a good mouser cat. I haven't heard of the no-kill trap though.

BTW, it's a ball-peen hammer.

I put the little bugger on a fishing hook and use him/her for bait. Got a 42" Barracuda with the last one in the Caymans.
See recycling works!
How could she holler at me for "Recycling"??!

Re: So, you catch a mouse on a sticky tray-then what?

I vote trap and release. Let nature (the mouse) return to nature. And chances are, nature (a predator) will preform a natural act, and naturally consume the little sucker.

Karma is a good thing.

I am no pansy, but those sticky traps are bad news...

I don't mind the blood and guts of a good ole trap, but the tortured mouse is a bit much... I ain't got a personal grudge against the little guy.

Guys, I accept that mice on a boat can be problematic if allowed to happen - but guys, you are sick, some of you.

A little deep sea diving does wonders for a rat.
