If this be hibernation, color me grizzly.

One of the things we seek as cruisers is FREEDOM - freedom to be quirky, unusual, hedonistic, high, to come and go as we please - all of the things discouraged by 9 to 5 corporate America. Music and dance give me a lot of that freedom - not the same freedom, mind you, but a reasonable facsimile. My Zen is tuned up and adjusted. Think Woodstock, without the mud.

C'mon and crawl into my den, mama bear. We may hibernate, but we won't be sleeping.

I am on the East coast. Went to the boat show">Annapolis Boat show last Thursday. Nothing interesting to speak of, except the roast beef sandwiches were good. Curiously, only boat I went on was a new Beneteau First 35 - what a piece of absolute junk. Couldn't believe it. Was going to go on a Lagoon, but at this point all these boats are impossibly expensive, so I just walked around for a couple of hours. Since I have no boat, buying and dreaming about gear was as pointless.

Same ol' same ol vendors. One curiousity was a table in a corner with no visitors. Chinese made sailboat. Farnova Yachts

Maybe we will start seeing more chinese manufactured boats in the future.

The link is hit or miss. Not able to handle more than a few links at a time. We are all overwhelming the site.

I think my senseless point is...hmmm, maybe a new boat is doable if more chinese firms come of age with offerings.

Also, its good to see some surprises at the boat show, since all the vendors were the same old stock. Wish I kept my eyes open for more...

Hey Gord,

I can't get that article - I'd have to buy it. Do you have access ot a University eLibrary or something?

Salty, are you looking for a boat on the east coast?
