Re: NATO Conference

Went down to the harbour today. Or rather I got to look at it.
Huge anti-submarine French vessel out there (second photo).. huge military presence. Reminded me of days gone by.

Wouldnt mind a ride on some of these vessels.

Lots of helicopter activity and jets on standby.

this is the hotel resort..

Gordie,

Don't worry about it! I think Google will translate it, and one of K's friends who speaks spanish will e-mail a copy to his wife, and she'll be clued in anyway.

Sorry, I'm so computer illiterate that I can't write this in Spanish, although I do know how to say most of it!

Cheers,

A.

It's not, I assume that is some kind of static display?
F-35 on a golf course with a couple of armored vehicles? You don't see that often

Yes, they are: F 35 A with USAF and F 35 C with USN, but still they are not really operational due to abundance of issues.

Re: NATO Conference

Their is a vertical take off version version of the F35 to replace the Harrier but didn't think it was in production yet. If it's not one of those planes it got towed there. In any case don't imagine a VTOL F35 would be kind to the greens.

Yeah it is an F35B. My first couple of looks I wonder if photoshop was being used.

Only a handful of those have been built so it is really interesting to see it deployed like this. Makes you think. The Brits moved in a Type 45 anti aircraft/missile destroyer and the US sends over a F35B. The ship make sense but is there not an airbase near by to provide cover? They really need and antisubmarine ship too?

Later,
Dan
