Re: Bumfuzzles Are On The Move and Sailing

i have been wary of literally hitting mexico--after all for us here on worst coast is a lee shore--i did my shakedown cruise from sd to mazatlan via ensenada--ensenada was not planned, but worked ok.
after leaving ensenada there were issues on boat i needed to fix, as had they not been fixed i would not be here writing on this puter from hell.... but i had the best crew for the money an d job i could find.
every cruise is a shakedown.
every outing is a different problem to be solved.
life is a shakedown cruise.
i met the borens in old harbor in mazatlan. good folks. their force 50 is gorgeous.

I believe you and your family will have the times of your lives. Your heads are in the right place. Also, I *love* SLO harbor! Do you know the Borens?

Have a great sail and sorry for wandering slightly from the topic.

George
I too apologize for the drift, but the Bumfuzzles are on the "Dead Horse Thread"
list so it may be 50% permissable. I too love Port San Luis but I haven't yet met the Borens. I probably will, this is a rather small community it seems. We're in Alameda now finishing up the boat to the point that it's seaworthy and safe. Couple more weeks...

We do plan a few shorter shakedown cruises than those guys did, but still, we'll hit Mexico with bad varnish and a few small deck leaks at least. We plan to do things that will make the armchair equipped graybeards cringe but we will make it and sooner rather than later. 100% of our safety equipment and damage control kit will be perfect I can assure you, but this boat will certainly leave Mexico looking better than it will when it arrives and with more stuff working.
The amount of time someone spends on the Internet (and/or marinas) is inversely proportional to the amount of time they spend underway.

Re: Bumfuzzles Are On The Move and Sailing

It is the wonder of the ages, that helpless and smelly little offspring, demanding two decades of 24/7 care and service, costing zillions, can make two otherwise bright and lovely adults turn to fawning jellos of joy.

another season, another reason

Alot of shoes, alot of rice
the groom is nervous. he answers twice

To make whoopee

Picture a little love nest
down where the roses cling
picture the same sweet love nest
Think what a year can bring

He's washing dishes and baby cloths
He's so ambitious he even sows
but don't forget folks thats what you get folks
for makein whoopee
Welcome Lowe Bleu, newest swabby.

Re: Bumfuzzles Are On The Move and Sailing

It's interesting to read Pat's account of the Caesarean birth of Lowe today . . . sounds a bit stressful. But at least he still has his wonderful sense of humor . . . from today's log:

"13-Aug-2011 welcome.

"Welcome Alejandro Manuel Enrique Schulte.

"What? Too Ethnic? Alright, welcome Lowe Bleu Schulte."

Read all about it, here:
