Tips on moisture control

We have found that if we hang a puppy potty pad in with our clothes it helps keep them dry and from smelling of mildew. We have noticed we get a lot of moisture accumulating at night in the V berth when we sleep up there. However it is greatly reduced if we close up the cabin before the night gets too late. We also found some moisture absorbers they carry at the dollar store that have helped. I also finally made myself give the bilge a good cleaning and that seems to have helped a bit.

Since I can't find a "Venture" County in the US, maybe you're elsewhere or maybe you're in Ventura County with a typo. Location means much for moisture control. As Southern California is dry and the water is cold, your best strategy would be to rely on more insulation where warmer moisture laden air in the cabin meets to cold inner surfaces of the hull. If you're somepace else and in warmer water this hull insulation will be less important, but ventilation will be important anywhere.

We are in the humid SE US and we like to hang moisture absorbing "Damp-Rid" bags in some lockers.
