I'm in the NW too, and electric is the cheapest option. Also doesn't involve cramming something additional into an already small area. If you are talking about heating the boat while living on anchor, if you are that poor, go wood.

So I'm thinking of getting a 23 I really like the table and chair setup and most 23 have them. Also most have a kitchen area. They are cheaper and able to haul. So a question is how should I continue to look. My only source is Craigslist but I would like more options any ideas?

Hey, I am a recent graduate/ kinda and I also am looking to live aboard a boat eventually with my girlfriend and go around the world. I am saving over the next 3-5 years to so so and this post is great and helpful

I was looking at a hunter 34 cuz I want room for us and room for the occasional guest cupel. How do people feel about that boat? Also what would be another good boat? My price range is 5-20k and I am really looking for a sloop cutter or something like that.

I am new to sailing but it's becoming a big thing for me

My first boat was a 33 footer. I never regretted the extra space, nor did I find controlling the boat in a safe manner difficult...the advantage in terms of staying out in the heavy stuff, but in a safer and better equipped fashion was very noticeable, as I was racing a 27 footer at the same time and noticed it could get "punched around" by waves and wind more easily. Just my .02: don't exclude a bigger boat if it's a good deal just because it's a bigger boat.
