Insurance costs in Australia

Hi guys,

Long time lurker.

I'm after some information/experience on insurance costs in Oz.

I'm looking at buying an approx 40' cruiser, something around the 100k mark, which will be berthed in a Queensland marina. The yacht will likely be 1990+. With a view to becoming a live aboard at some point in the future.

Is anyone able to share their experience of monthly insurance costs?

we paid 1250 dollars with club marine for 115k of cover on a 2002 40 foot boat moored in the gold coast if that's any help?

Hi I goy $1600/year on $195000 2003 model

Be aware that many insurers want an out of water survey beforehand...so you may have to factor in haul out + surveyor $$$$!
