Not sure Spike would have known about a gravestone in Key West, and I'm also not sure he didn't say it before Roberts' death in 79.

I certainly remember hearing reports of Spike making that crack about what he wanted for an epitaph when I was young, well before the internet

In the www era, plagiarism has become a more plausible alternative explanation for people on opposite sides of the world having the same idea, but it's still not a slam dunk.

When I was 12, I was quite surprised that Shakespear translated so beautifully into English. Pelagic, not so much.
