Re: What is Your Favorite Quote?

Okay - so he plagiarized and then wrote it in Gaelic in order for it to be approved by the Chichester Diocese. Who the hell can read Gaelic?

Not sure Spike would have known about a gravestone in Key West, and I'm also not sure he didn't say it before Roberts' death in 79.

I certainly remember hearing reports of Spike making that crack about what he wanted for an epitaph when I was young, well before the internet

In the www era, plagiarism has become a more plausible alternative explanation for people on opposite sides of the world having the same idea, but it's still not a slam dunk.

You're absolutely right. My apologizes to all Spike Lee fans.

Chay Blyth on entering the first solo nonstop circumnavigation race around all horns with no prior sailing experience. He said it was like going to hell with an instruction manual.

Is that a favourite quote, or a response to Pelagic's "poetry" (to use the word loosely)

Well, it's not up there with, say, Vogon poetry.

So .... what have we got to complain about ?

Pelagic's "poetry".

When I was 12, I was quite surprised that Shakespear translated so beautifully into English. Pelagic, not so much.

Awesome!

Reminds me of this one I found a long time ago.

"The scale of your homes should be derived from the real needs of your daily lives, not from vanity, insecurity, or a need for public display. Home should be the setting of your life, not the measure of it."

Two come to mind I, remind myself of almost daily.
Keep on doing what you are doing and you will keep on getting what you are getting.
Gotta make a change to get better results.
Slow down you will go faster.
