Re: Any Photographers with DSLR's Around ?

Let's see if I can upload some photos of the J's racing last June in Palma. I'll start with one of Hanuman to see if it works.

I'll try another of Hanuman ... different size. Hmmm, how to submit a larger image and not just a thumbnail?

Yes, I stole it from a Wiki Page - it is not mine, but I wish it were. I got a couple of nice pictures of classic lenticular clouds when flying between them but don't have them scanned in to post, so I had to make do with a stolen one.

I do <URL="http://BigPicture">SmallPicture
to put a thumbnail pointing to the full size picture. Just replace the less-than with open-square-bracket and the greater-than with close-square-bracket

Re: Any Photographers with DSLR's Around ?

Tx Zanshin, but I'm attaching files from my computer so not going the URL route. However, I note that clicking on the thumbnail will open a full size image for those who wish. I guess that works for me.

I think I've a few more nice one's of the J's.

Sweet indeed, Ocean Girl.

Re: Any Photographers with DSLR's Around ?

I have a Pentax K30 all weather DSLR. I dropped my camera and broke my 18-55 lense . Im ordering the Pentax 18-55 "all weather" lens and want one more lens to play around with, probably micro instead of macro...?

Question:
Do you only buy name brand lenses? Nikon to Nikon, cannon to cannon?

Would like to take more pictures of our interior. I have a Precision 0.20x fisheye (52-58) lens. Not too impressed with it when I first bought it, but I thought I'd try again not that I'm getting more familiar with the camera, it adapts to my 18-55 lens. I'm wondering if a better brand of fisheye would be in order, or even a wide angle lens..?

I've had very good luck with Tamron and Sigma lenses.

Hi Ocean girl, I got the glass that came with the Nikon D3200 and another telephoto for a great price bundled. I'm a newb, so I'll take notes on buying other lens brands for prime lenses and kit. Including a wide angle...

Re: Any Photographers with DSLR's Around ?

Remember that Canon sells camera bodies with their vast range of lenses. Canon owners are into that brand for the lens line-up. Still, I also have a Tokina lens.

My most favorite lens is the EF 8-15mm L f/4 fisheye-ZOOM lens. It will take any photog way beyond their imagination.

Cool. It is priced like it is lots of peoples favorite lens...

The Tokina AF 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 comes in at around $500, I wonder how it compares?

These are some shots new out of the box in Sept with manual settings. Lots to learn, can anyone recommend an ebook on kindle I can take to Cuba with me next week?

Ya no kidding. Looks like there is a cheaper f2 version after quick search, and not much on ebay.

Thanks Ocean Girl. He's a great sailing pal, loves the stimulation of trying new things with the dink, docks, and seeing how long he can freakin hold it

He's decided sailing is better than staying at home, and not getting to work cattle/sheep or do his daily truck routine.
