My partner, Lisa, has two daughters about Amanda Faye's age. Such a loss is very, very sad. Try to take heart as she would want you to live a happy life - to continue to live your dream.
Fair winds will someday return,
John

There is nothing I could say that would ease the pain but I have said a prayer for you and your family. My thoughts are with you.

Gunner,

I am so sorry for the events of this week. I don't know you or your family personally but I feel a certain connection that I cannot dismiss. I have been trying to come up with some way of helping during this terrible time and I am really at a loss. There is nothing I can do to help, maybe just my words will soften things a little. My wife Juli & I have cried over the last 2 nights just discussing your situation. We also have 3 kids and the idea of losing a child is just gut wrenching. How our lives can change in a matter of minutes is just unfair and incomprehensible. You are truly in my thoughts and hopes that you will come through this in time. Your daughter will always be with you I firmly believe that. I know this may sound strange and I am not a very religious person, but over the course of my life I have had several events that have happened to me that I truly cannot explain through logic or science. I have had experiences with 2 people who have passed away and it has convinced me that there is something more to our lives that what we perceive. There is something other than just our existence here on this planet, there is another place out there and your daughter is there now. She is still with you, she is still aware of what you are going through. Someday, somehow she will send you a message that she is OK. I just hope you can make it to that place and time that you can say back to her that you too are OK.

All my love and sympathy,

Scott

Gunner and Judy have been caring for his dad for some time during his final years. In fact, that is the reason they are still in Holland and haven't gone cruising full time. They had planned on taking Amanda with them.

Hospice of Holland www.hollandhospice.org
has been a tremendous help to them in caring for Gunners dad and any memorials made to Hospice in the name of Amanda Faye Prins for the benefit of Warren Prins would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to Greg B.

Thank you all for the prayers, email messages and support over the past 5 days. It meant a lot to us. We buried Amanda Faye this morning and many Friends that I did not know would care were there. I learned last night and this morning what real friends are and I will be a much better friend from now on. Several hundred people came through the snow last night to lend their support and do what they could to give us comfort. It was the biggest blessing I can remember ever having. It was in some strange way the best day of my life during the worst time of my life. I expect that the healing process will take years and I do not look forward to going through them without my little girl, but everyday is one day closer to the day we will see her again. We have no idea if we will ever care enough to pickup our dream of cruising again because nothing is important to us like it once was. What is important is having compassion for others. I thank God for Friends.

"No man is poor who has friends" - It's a Wonderful life.

In a very strange way Gunner, your a very rich man. I am so sorry this has all happened.

Today, you have more friends than you ever knew all because of your daughter - Amanda Faye.
