Unhappy

Gunner & Judy,

I am so very sorry to hear of your tragic loss. I lost my father in a car accident in October, 2005, so in some small way I understand what you are going through. It is the worst pain you will ever experience, and yet, you will experience brighter days in time. I too thought I'd never come out of the darkness, never wish for the future, never laugh until tears flowed again. But I did, and you will too. And like you, through my father's death, I discovered how many people's lives he had touched, and how many friends I had. Those things didn't take my grief away, but they did warm my heart at an incredibly difficult time.

Warm wishes,
elf

Wow As someone who lost a brother and has seen the way it has effcted my Parents and Sisters and Brothers, I truley send you my deepest sympathy. I wish there were words to ease your pain. Just try to remember all of the joy you had with her and not this unfortunate time. Sincerely Nelson S/V Lazy Palm Northport NY

As someone who is preparing and saving for the same trip with our 3 year old son, I simply can't find a way to express my sympathy other than to perhaps share that we both have families united by a common dream. Perhap just the closeness of that shared vision is and has always been more important than it's realization. In her short time you shared with your Amanda far more than most families could have hoped to have shared in a long lifetime, you shared with her a questing hope powerful enough to take a physical form and her name. A hope of touching people and places in ways few can do. Those lives on remote and distant shores have countless children whose vision has never been lifted as Amanda's was to see beyond their homes or poverty. These children still wait for you. Your smallest kindness will be remembered by them for the rest of their lives. Few fathers who've lost a child can still keep their memory alive through such a shared and living dream. Few have such a meaningful bond. It is her gift that you can share in a thousand different ways. Tell those you meet who Amanda Faye was and let them have her joy.

Thank You all. As we start to understand the grief we feel, we have been told that the worst is coming. I think it is true because today is worse than yesterday and that was worse than...... If that is the case then I do not know what we are going to do. Our son Ron said that he will quit his job and cruise with us and I am starting to really liking the idea. Maybe his older brother will do the same. If that were to happen I can see the dream having some life left but if they go on with their lives then I think our dream will end. I feel so sorry for anyone that has gone through what we are. It is unbelievable but the prayers and well wishes from everywhere have been a comfort to us. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

hold on to your dream buddy...

Keep the boat ...Gunner...make it your refuge...go on with the dream...

Give Judy a big hug...wait five minutes and give her another one ...and don't you ever stop....

Thank you all.

I am working on making myself hold the boat for 1 year then see if we still want to sell it. Judy does not seem to be interested in using it for anything more than a day sailor. The counselor's say that the worst is yet to come in the coming months, I think they are right.

Gunner,
Wrap your arms around your wife and your son, and anyone else dear to you and go on that cruise. Good heavens you have the best boat in the world for it.
