Sika 290i DC or TDS SIS-440

Getting ready to order caulking for my decks, need about 80 tubes.

Struggling to decide which to order, the price is much the same.

I've seen a few negative comments about Sika and nothing bad about TDS.

For a long time I don't think you could get TDS in the UK, but I have found a couple of dealers now.

Any opinions?

Many people in the UK use Sika, but my worries are its been changed to many times, 290DC, 290i DC and now 290 DC Pro, why?

I've put to much time and care into renovating my decks I don't want to get a couple years down the line and find I have an issue with the caulking, so going with TDS as you say, thanks

TDS= softer with better elasticity, bonds very well to itself in the event you need to make a repair / change. Sands well, in a larger seem taping the bottom with fine line tape helps eliminate the thermal exapnsion issue and opening of side seams. A couple hundred tubes used trying to save my old wood deck.

Sika= If you use the Sika primer it has excellent adhesion, however, does not sand as well as TDS, is considerably stiffer and does not blend as well when making a repair / change.

Plus one for TDS

Buy a cheap cordless caulk gun!!! Or a good 3M hand one and do a test run on quantity, you a want to ensure a full seem with no air entrapment and will end up with some waste, I would not recommend the frugal temptaion to putty the exess else where I learned that the hard way. No air and slightly over filled sands out to be very nice. under filled areas really show up.
