see photos...id like to know if this would work...a friend wants to use a pvc pipe with this old furler...the home made unit is prety strong but I think pvc and alloy dont mix well...your opinion pleas.

I don't know what size boat, or ultimate loads, but this looks like a disaster waiting to happen. When the pipe breaks, there goes the forestay, and so goes the rig.
