Has Anyone Used Trex on Their Boat ?

Does anyone have experience in using Trex (the synthetic wood) for deck mountings and platforms for thru-hull fittings? It seems like the perfect application if you are not worried about the esthetics. It is mold proof, durable and very resistant to UV deterioration. One of my concerns however is that it is not as dense as a hard wood, might compact under a heavy load. I am not sure how it will react to resin and adhesives but I can’t imagine how it would react any different than wood. Anyone have any experience regarding these questions?

Try Starboard instead of Trex. Trex has organic material in it Starboard does not.
