There are two 4" ducts coming off the MSI plenum that I bought at Flagship Marine.

With the ducts, wiring, and plumbing installed, the last step was to install the final mahogany panels in the V-berth. I have to say...I think they turned out pretty good!

Thanks ZH!

I got the wiring and plugs in the V-berth cubby cabinet installed, so that section of the boat is close to being done. There's one more coat of ICA clear coat to be sprayed, and the headliner has to be installed. But all of the woodwork there is done. Booyah

Re: Future Brown Water Cruiser: 1969 Chris Craft Roamer 46 Refit

I was getting sick of spending every single weekend in the boatyard, so I took the Labor Day weekend off and spent time on other hobbies of mine. It turns out that many of the same skills and abilities used in cabinetmaking also come in handy gunsmithing!

Anyway, after a long weekend away I got busy in the aft stateroom laundry closet next, which had the benefit of being lower in the boat and, therefore, much cooler while summer winds down. I did some woodworking, then installed 8/4 cable to a breaker sub-panel that will power the big appliances back here--the washer, dryer, and AC unit.

Re: Future Brown Water Cruiser: 1969 Chris Craft Roamer 46 Refit

I got the laundry closet ceiling panel fitted and the backside insulated. There was a bit of a hitch along the way, but everything turned out OK.

This is coming along nicely!

After making the box for the dryer vent that will fit into the back wall, I mixed up some white-tinted epoxy and coated the visible surfaces. They turned out pretty good!

Re: Future Brown Water Cruiser: 1969 Chris Craft Roamer 46 Refit

I got the walls in the laundry closet coated. The missus wanted a brown side wall and floor but a white back wall. Who am I to question why? Either way, it turned out pretty well.

I'm also thinking about changing the platform away from the Wordpress photo journal blog and starting a Youtube channel. Anybody know anything about that?

I tried to respond to your wordpress blog but couldn’t post. I’ll post it here:

I’ve been following your blog for the last 3 or so years and very much enjoy watching the progress and trying to learn from your skills. Clearly, you’re already putting a huge amount of work into the blog (as well as the project itself).

Why not put a paypal link up on this site [wordpress] for people who want to buy you a beer? I agree with the others that a vlog would be a huge amount of work. If you really want to try YouTube, one option that may minimize the amount of work would be to simply show the pictures and narrate over the top. YouTube would likely get your project in front of more eyes. If you set up a patreon account, you may get beer money from that.

Keep up the great work!!

I got the last panel in the laundry closet made (twice, in fact!), and hit it and the aft wall with a base coat of spar urethane. It's kind of nice working in small spaces...things get done faster!

Re: Future Brown Water Cruiser: 1969 Chris Craft Roamer 46 Refit

I did some wiring last weekend in the aft stateroom laundry closet. Unlike domestic wiring, feeding wires out of the circuit breaker box and back through the bulkhead on this boat and into the empty space behind the closet back panel involved many trips back and forth to the engine room. It doesn't look like much was done, but my achin' back says otherwise! LOL

Re: Future Brown Water Cruiser: 1969 Chris Craft Roamer 46 Refit

I've been swamped getting ready for a trip to the far side of the planet for my son's wedding...haven't had time to blog. I'll probably be taking the next few weeks off.

But I did get the rear panel cut and insulated on the storage closet next to the laundry closet.

Re: Future Brown Water Cruiser: 1969 Chris Craft Roamer 46 Refit

The trip to Japan was big fun. The wedding was just about perfect, and we got in lots of travel around the country after the wedding. It was a really good trip.

Now...back to real life.

I got the back panel for the air conditioning closet epoxy coated and installed, and the air conditioning enclosure shelves are ready to install. Slowly but surely, it's getting done.
