Favorite Hatches and Where to Buy Them?

I just realized I need to buy my hatches next. I can’t install the shower ceiling without the hatch cutout.

What hatches should I get?

Need to keep it economical.

Any ideas?

What’s the best supplier for quantities of fit out stuff?

Exactly why I’m asking. They are awful to buy as aftermarket items individually.

So expensive it hurts

I bought a few from the clearance bin on Defender a couple years ago. Decent price. Average quality lewmar.

Good luck

Thank you. I’ve just been looking at these. Seem to be the best deal out there.

Re: Favorite Hatches and Where to Buy Them?

I'd give Sailorman, in Ft Lauderdale, and Sailors Exchange, in St Augustine, a try. Sailors Exchange supplied all the hatches on my friend's Cat build. They bought new, old stock and were very pleased with pricing.

Cheers.

Re: Favorite Hatches and Where to Buy Them?

A few years ago I needed to replace a rectangular access hatch. The original was a Nuova Rade, made in Italy. Couldn’t find them in the US but I finally tracked down a supplier in Vancouver, BC. Try Victory Products (https://victory-products.com/) if that’s the kind of thing you’re after. Good luck.

Have a look at Bomar, Defender has good deals. Nice low profile. I fitted these 20 years ago and replaced them a few months ago with same. The ones I took out were still serviceable and I could have redone the seals but for the cost and aggravation it was easier to replace.

Re: Favorite Hatches and Where to Buy Them?

If you're buying second hand be sure to replace the acrylic. I bought a couple of approx 15 yr old goiot hatches. The adhesion looked fine till I gave it a gentle push, on the worst of them it had totally failed on two edges. With new acrylic and new glue They are good as new and a fraction of the new price
