Fastener Source = SPECTACULAR !!!

I needed a ton of various metric 316 fasteners for a refit project...

My go to was always Mcmaster Carr, and I've recommended here as such at least 20X...

BUT...

My requirements at their prices were going to either:
A- Cost a month's mortgage...
or
B- Require selling the boat to pay for the fasteners...

I stumbled across the most fantastic source -
https://www.theindustrialdepot.com/
sales@theindustrialdepot.com
Phone: 678.904.5000

I'm sure all the guys there are great, but in particular my contact was
David Gee at the above email address

My 20 odd line items were dropped shipped in about 10 packages within a few days at $16 TOTAL shipping

The fasteners themselves are absolutely first rate high quality, all stamped with A4 (316 metric) designation...

Now for the jaw dropper...
Example 1 = M8x16mm flathead socket, 100 pc
McMaster price = $81.40
The Industrial Depot price $16.78

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Re: Fastener Source = SPECTACULAR !!!

That's a great website! Thanks for posting it. However, if you have access to a Port Supply account, West Marine's wholesale division, their prices are lower. For example, I just bought 50 12x2 s/s oval head sheet metal screws at Port Supply for slightly less than $9. At industrialdepot.com, their price for 100 of the exact same screw is slightly more than $29. It also doesn't appear that they ship internationally but I can't confirm that.

Fair winds and calm seas.

Are you sure these are high quality stainless? Just because they say 316 doesn't mean they are high quality.

Dramatic price differences make me very suspect. Wish you luck.

I didn't suspect they had the best prices on everything, but most certainly on my metric needs...

Z- I've been around fasteners my whole life, and they look 1st rate... ALTHOUGH... I probably should have used a few before writing the post...

Actually, most of these were drop shipped from Lindstrom, and it seems as though they have their shiznit together... All of them have lot # traceability

No. You could have simply asked. I did--they're imported.

Imported doesn't necessarily mean junk, but I would test a few to destruction to find out. Also consider the application and think about what would be the effect if they did fail.

Re: Fastener Source = SPECTACULAR !!!

Honestly seems like they must have mispriced those or was some sort of clearance special. Thanks for the link.

Re: Fastener Source = SPECTACULAR !!!

Almost all come from China....West gets theirs from Fastco . They are ok.....just get them in the 100 piece packs for best pricing. Also clean all fasteners with good solvent before using as the are oily and will not hold sealant well and leak around windows ....First hand knowledge.

Re: Fastener Source = SPECTACULAR !!!

Check these guys out. $7.95 flat rate shipping under $100. Free over. Were 1/2 price of one of the above. Nice quality. A real person pulled the order and contacted me before shipment to confirm I had ordered a mixture of stainless and ferrous fastners. Take care. Phil

Check them with a strong magnet. Try one from Cheap hardware store for comparison.
