Re: Does your Beneteau creak?

Lotsa noise above and below in all craft in a blow or sizeable seaway, but my contessa 32 does not creak nor did my 35 ft steel sloop.Very reassuring.

Ours certainly does not creak! But the hull is cored throughout and extremely stiff, and laid up with Kevlar ahead of the keel. I've never heard a peep out of it.

I have sailed creaky Benes, but I chartered a new 431 once and sailed in some tough weather -- 40-odd knots of Meltemi -- and it was silent, too. Nice boat. Maybe they creak with age.

So far our Hylas 47 has proven to be essentially creak free - which is something I could not report about any other sailboat I've owned or been on.

Re: Does your Beneteau Creak ?

A fellow at my club sailed the recent Caribbean 1500 and he said that the worst part for him was the constant creaking of the Oceanis of unknown but plus 40 foot size that they were on.

He said that logically it wasn't a problem, but psychologically, it cut into his rest periods.
