closing / tinting 3m 4000

Anyone with recommendations if it can be done and if so with what? I have a large hatch with pexi top and my wife doesn't like the white glaring up.

Dow 795 is an acrylic glazing caulk and available in a lot of colors.

Never thought of it, but I'd try mixing some powder of a color she would like in some as a test.
I think maybe artists supplies have different color powders? I want to think I read somewhere where artists sometimes make their own oil colors?

I'd try it on something like a piece of cardboard first, I have no idea how adding something would effect it, would have to I think at least weaken it's bond? I'm thinking maybe after you get the color you want putting a layer on the white you have, so it's just a cover up, that way your not relying on it's strength

Good to know, lot easier, I had assumed it would be like trying to paint silicone

Are you talking about the caulk around the plexiglass or the hatch frame?

I'm now totally confused ... I thought he was talking about the Plexiglass itself. i thought he was wanting to find something like is used on car windows to darken them.

It is a 24 in square with a 1 1/2 wide edge that the plexiglass sits on is screwed down. Of course the entire 1 1/2 in seal is visible and my wife thinks it is tacky. (i sealed the skylight glass this way and all she sees is the white edging!

If still in the states where shipping is easy, get Dow 795. It's designed for the job you're doing.
