Funny you should say that, I was thinking the same thing about the Bowman. When I first started looking I really liked a Bowman 57 that was up in Maine. I really like the lines on those boats. once I get it down I'll let you know how its going.

busy day at the boat! Old refrigeration removed, old sink out, removed another hatch. Took up a little teak!

Here are a couple of pics of the old girl, pre hatch removal. Should be done and replaced by next weekend...gotta work this weekend...again. Really need to change that name.

That sounds like it has a governor on it. Being in the trucking industry since my early 20's, I found it strange that more boat diesels weren't governed. But, that would make sense why I see so many post on engines going kapoot to early. 1800-1900 is the max you want to run a diesel to give it the longevity it is suppose to have.

IMO....I like the name Nirvana for a boat! But she is your now...time for you to give her your own name!

The previous owner was a zen buddhist, so the name fits for him, she was called prima donna before that and I think she began her existence as miss florida. I am leaning toward Sea Witch, however Time Out also is in the running. My kids want to name it # Winnin. Someone will have to explain to me what that means, I suppose. The tach died on the trip down so until I fix that I have no idea what the thing is actually turning! I think the prop is over pitched and that is limiting it as well.

One of the names that was on our list was Witch Wae. But it wasn't a 'short list'. So in the end...we came up with: "You look like Gelfling ....SMELL like Gelfling......maybe y'ARE Gelfling!" - Aughra - The Dark Crystal.

I like your kids idea!..... not sure the Coast Guard will if you get it documented. I don't think the # (hashtag) is approved with them! Too funny!!

Starting to get a bit tired. Been at it all day. got seven of the nine hatches reinstalled. ripped up half of the teak on the back deck. ran about 600 gallons of water thru system. Think I'm just gonna crash on the boat tonight. oh yeah got the hatches back from the powder coaters...I think they turned out real good!

Big weekend on the boat! hand cut new formica counter tops and glued down. installed new sink and faucet. still working on plumbing connections. finished the majority of the aft deck gel coat removal, now have to remove the hardware and get the edges. registered the dink and motored it around. moved the boat over for a pump out and figured out the vent line was clogged, fixed that. sorted out the shower drain issue and now have to rebuild the shower pump. installed coolant overflow catch tank and new radiator cap and cleaned and cleaned and cleaned. And for the big finish we actually motored the boat around for a couple of hours on a mini voyage! all in 90 degree heat...

Slow progress, counters finished, new pvc backsplash, sink done, one window rebedded, rebuilt jabsco shower pump and reinstalled. Now all showers and heads work! now I have water tank issues...Got to me Shaunj, had a good visit!

Its nice to see you got the sink installed, one more thing off the bucket list.

No work actually on the boat this weekend...looks like I will haul it out next weekend and finish up the aft deck. Seems like the quickest and most painless option vs trying to do all the sanding and other work in the water next to neighbors who may not appreciate the smell and dust from fiberglass resin and paint. May try and take care of a few other bottom details while I'm at it.

Haul out: Work begins in earnest today. Reconstructing the aft deck and other things like bottom paint and refridgeration. Pretty as a picture. my first haul out. We were all very nervous.
