Am I the only one who realizes it's April 1st?

Happy April Fool's Day! Good one, brother!

Re: USCG proposes to restrict cruising Catamarans to "calm" weather

In a related article there is an additional proposal under consideration.

"After extensive study by the USCG and insurance companies on the cause and cost of rescue and loss of life and equipment due to those poorly designed catamarans; real sailors will be allowed to openly carry guns and shot such " stupid boaters". This is determined to be a cost and time saving action upon the open waters and will help reduce the chance of such "stupid boaters" from reproducing and the effect on the future gene pool of real sailors."

Did anyone happen to notice the date of the original post?

Good one, DOJ!

Melt down all that lead, cast some fake gold ingots, put them on display at Fort Knox to replace all the missing gold that went to China. The ban on catamarans is obviously just a cover up.

Re: USCG proposes to restrict cruising Catamarans to "calm" weather

I'm starting to get confused:
Does this apply to tri hulls?
What about 2 mono hulls rafted together? Dothey need to wait for calm weather to un raft?
What does the date have to do with it?

Re: USCG proposes to restrict cruising Catamarans to "calm" weather

Bloody hell - 53 posts and no one has mentioned that its actually 1 April 2012 today. Perhaps they are surpirised that DOJ could read a calendar and thats what threw them off. I actually think it might be David's birthday.

ITS AN APRIL FOOLS JOKE FOLKS

Re: USCG proposes to restrict cruising Catamarans to "calm" weather

I read the first post and whilst it's 1040pm here in Australia I realised immediately it's an April Fools joke.

The fact that nobody noticed for so long demonstrates how relaxing cruising is with no careS in the world and no idea what the time or date is.

Re: USCG proposes to restrict cruising Catamarans to "calm" weather

1040 PM doesn't cut it, no matter where you are. You have to wait until 0001 to post here. What about the Australian ban on foreign made vessels, or is that already in effect?
