Fort Lauderdale is the center of the catamaran universe. Tampa, not so much.

Not saying the gemini is a good boat, but what did you not like about the layout? We currently live on a 32' Ami 320. And love it. As much interior space and storage as a much larger cat great cockpit, trampoline, fantastic steps going down , they sail and handle great. Having had an endeavourcat we wanted something with better performance and offshore capability. This was going to be our forever boat and I love her, and have loved living aboard 7 months now. The mother in law (and dog) may start cruising with us and we will have possibly another family member in addition going with us quite a bit. So we have opted to sell ours and are purchasing a leopard 38. If our plans were just the two of us our boat would be awesome. Theres one for sale in Indian rocks beach its worth a look. Incredibly strong and well under your price range.
Someone contacted me about a very nice 1 owner lagoon 37 tpi very well equipped original owner since 94 only been used 4 months a year, asking 155 / new rigging, has alot of extras. Its in trinidad ybut they could move it Im guessing. Its 3 staterooms great galley, huge head, nice layout. Probably in better shape than a 10 year newer ex charter vessel.
Let me know if you want their info?

What he said.

You're on the wrong side of the state.

Re: Ready Set Go... Catamaran Search

I disagree, in the OP's price range their are as many Cats on the West coast as the East Coast. Plus from Tampa its only 2 hours to Naples, 4 hours to Ft Lauderdale, 4.5 hours to Panhandle, 3.5 Hours to St Augustine, its pretty Central as for beginning their hunt. Plus TIA is so easy to get in and out of they save an hour there alone vs Mia / shiver

See ya there.

What do you show listed in Tampa?

Usually not much around here.

Re: Ready Set Go... Catamaran Search

That is just where we are staying for the week as it is central to most places and we are staying with friends. We hope to take a day and go up the coast, one down, and then over to Fortl Lauderdale and where ever we can for the week .

Re: Ready Set Go... Catamaran Search

The 2 largest catamaran brokerages are both headquartered in Fort Lauderdale. There are other smaller cat brokerages there also. FWIW The Catamaran Company has 29 boats for sale there. I just checked.

Try to spend more time there if you can.

After Christmas you'll get good deals on 4 star hotels in the area on Hotwire or Priceine. Anything 3.5 stars or higher will be a high quality business or resort class hotel.

I know about a mid nineties Privilege 45 ex charter boat that is about to go on the market. PM me if anyone is interested and I will try to put you in touch with the owner.

Re: Ready Set Go... Catamaran Search

Ok, sitting here in a Fort Lauderdale hotel waiting for 9:00 am to go see 3 more boats. Thinking I have wasted a week of my life, and vacation time and a bit of the cruising kitty all for nothing. I can't even say at least the weather is nice.......

We have not seen the Athena, can you pm me a link? After looking at so many we are afraid the salon on the 35's may be to small or the hulls are like caves. We are adjusting our budget accordingly
