Had a mate in his late 60's who got a Para anchor for a trip to Sth America. Asked him and he found it real easy to deploy and get back. Used it twice just to have a good sleep after a few days of 25+ knots and loves it.

He did comment it was a huge pile easier to use than it first looked.

yes, did consider some major mods to enable me to do long distance. 9m Catalac is OK for trip across atlantic, but does not carry enogh water for the pacific. I had plans well advanced for additional 2m waterline length, which would have given me the extra load capacity neded for the stores, but water was still a major problem. I then looked at the cost of the mods and decided that I was better of to spend that money on a different boat. Decision on which boat will depend on whether I win a contract that I am bidding on for a major work package.

Either way, the replacement will be a Prout (catamaran)
