Damaged 2012 Lagoon 450, Only $150K

This almost new boat got beat up pretty bad. Needs some TLC. Lots and lots of TLC.

Yeah, that was only recent. Did you see the photos on the internet? Boat was new. On the rocks and the tow boat ripped the bottoms off both hulls dragging it over the rocks.

So it would be a good boat for water logged parts. Is that worth $150k?

Funniest thing about the ad: "The decks and rig all appear intact, with no obvious structural damage. Vessel shows very nice from waterline up."

Just nothing below the waterline LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!

There is a backstory to this - the boat was just a few days old when this happened:

The photoset is very sad indeed, but even at the asking price the boat will have to be completely redone.

Surely all that you could do is order the lower foot from the Lagoon factory moulds and splice it on there. If you couldn't do that you'd have to be very creative with fiberglass moulds. There could still be some profit in there for the right persons.

Any boat that has been submerged needs new electrics. The modern boats such as the Lagon have some of that electrical conduit glassed in the sandwich - so basically the whole insides would need to be removed and most of them replaced in addition to the glasswork on the hulls.

Holy ****, the tug use a metal wire to pull or what??

I cant believe the damage, looks like the Flintstones boat, best thing to do is remove the rig and plant the cata in cement in some nice location and sell it like a real condo 150000$$$$$ ??¿?¿? is a write off ,,,,,,,
until someone want to spend a fortune in glass and epoxy , .....

You could just leave the salvage inflatable bags on and sail away... seriously? this appears to be an insurance write-off worth only the parting out value.

The link didn't work for me either - but I'm (one of the few who is) not a facebook member so I though that was the reason. There is a whole photo essay that was visible through that link a couple of weeks back. Perhaps Husky (BVI) pages might have the story as well.

The cat went up on the reef and the salvage work did much of the damage while getting the cat off the reef at Sandy Cay in the BVI.

p.s. I can't get any of the original links in the thread http://www.traveltalkonline.com/foru...fpart=all&vc=1 to work.

Only if you didnt disclose the history of the boat and even then - it would have littl;e or no structural integrity

Here we go, now the peanut gallery is a fiberglass expert. I'll fix em and you sell em mate; leave it at that and we are all good.

Those that understand fiberglass simply laugh at those that don't and are happy to pay full retail for our work!

The boat was "Knotty Dreams", brand new with the owner on board, only in the water 5 days apparently. It seems the salvor "Husky Towing" has removed the pictures showing the salvage operation and extensive damage. Total loss!

Well, here it is. I guess they took these pics in those 5 days. It was a charter.

Edit: They are offering that boat for charter as in next week. Either we have the wrong name or Santa's elves have been really busy.

A real shame and in such usually safe waters. Guess there's really no safe waters.
