What is this?

This is on the stern of a 30 foot Cape Dory Cutter that is for sale. Owner deceased. New inboard engine. Dinghy motor, perchance?

It’s an outboard bracket. Probably put there after the original inboard died.

Pretty weird keeping an outboard bracket on the stern especially after replacing the inboard.
